Assembly works in Iceland already completed

June 28, 2017

End of June 2017, we completed the assembly of steel structures and sandwich panels for two transformer stations for the geothermal power plant in Theistareykir / Iceland.

– We have just finished the last stage of work, such as the assembly of sandwich panels. It must be admitted that this task was a new challenge for both myself and other employees. Very short days, as well as unexpected and intense snowfall or persistent wind often hindered assembly works, and the distance separating us from the nearest shops (note about 50 km) caused situations unusual for projects executed on continent – summarized Assembly Manager on behalf of OMIS.

Construction in numbers:

– manufacturing and assembly of supporting structures – 430 tons

– assembly of sandwich panels – 5,600 m2

– direct distance from Ostrołęka/Poland to the construction site – 2,700 km
